PGA Tour: Century Tournament of Champions⛳️
First time in two years, I've seen the PGA Tour!!
Kapalua Plantation Course, Maui Island, A fierce course of up-downs, as usual, the trade wind was a fierce course, and it was an image of the players struggling every year.
No wind this year though, I think it was perfect conditions!!
Riocchi has since watched the 2020 Sony Open, I found a dream of becoming a pro golfer and becoming a golfer, and started practicing my best 😊✨
This tournament in Maui is, Invitation to all the winning players of the year.
So many famous players 🤩
This is a tournament for golf lovers!!

Hilo born Leo Saito is our spotlight Hawaii Junior Golfer!
This 10-year-old has been passionate about playing golf since 2018. His mom Misa quotes, “he is the hardest to take away from the golf course. And he is always the last person hitting the ball until it gets dark.”
Leo’s first favorite golfer is his grandfather, and he loves to watch the PGA Tour on TV with his grandmother. And in January 2020 he went to watch the Sony Open in Oahu. He followed the players for all 3 days and was fascinated by their professionalism, this is where he started to dream about becoming a professional golfer.
Right after the Sony Open 2020, the pandemic hit, and all Junior Golf tournaments were cancelled. Leo had been very excited to play tournaments, but he just kept on practicing and became even more absorbed in golf.
Finally in the Summer of 2021, Leo started playing in tournaments. His mom recalls, “he bravely teed off and walked to the fairways himself…and a couple of hours later he came back with his smile.” Leo had qualified for IMG JUNIOR WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP, and his journey continued on in 2021 in both Hawaii and on the mainland.
Leo is thankful for his coaches: Troy Sato, Justin Lee, Brady Riggs, Rick Sessinghaus and George Lewitzki. And also, for the Big Island golf courses who support Junior Golfers, especially his home course Hilo Municipal Golf Course, the Pro shop and staff. He is especially grateful for Golf Treasures and Fujikura for taking care of his clubs, always making sure that his clubs fit him and are in top shape.
Leo is looking forward to meeting new friends, seeing old friends again on the course and golfing in more tournaments in 2022!We can’t wait to see what you are going to do this year Leo!
In early 2022 Leo started playing white tees with his technical coach George Lewitzki before first tournaments of 2022. When we were heading to the first tee I said to Leo “All I want from you today is a pair of 40’s. He answered back with “ Coach, I’m a +2 from the reds, scratch from the gold’s. Should be easy. We’ll today we’re playing white tees I said. He gave me a look of confusion, and answered my request for the day with a 79.
